Majestic Mushrooms Pty. Ltd. is a mushroom growing business situated in Murrumbateman, just 25 minutes from the Canberra CBD. This makes us the closest mushroom farm to Canberra and your local supplier.

Our mushrooms can be found in many top fruit shops and restaurants in Canberra and the surrounding region.

What Types of Mushrooms We Grow

White button, cup, flat mushrooms (Agaricus Bisporus).
Swiss Brown and Portabello mushrooms (Agaricus Bisporus).

The Owners

The owners of the business are Helen and Ian Chu, whom are both University of Canberra graduates. Helen has a Bachelor of Education degree, while Ian has a Bachelor of Engineering degree. After spending 10 years in our professional careers, we pursued a career change and in 2006 we built a mushroom farm. We are now full-time mushroom farmers.

Where the Mushrooms are Grown

Our mushrooms are grown in state-of-the-art, fully climate controlled growing rooms, where the environmental conditions are closely controlled. This facility was all designed by us and constructed from scratch. By simulating the ideal mushroom growing "season", we are able produce mushrooms all year round in rain, hail, shine or drought.

Memberships and Quality Assurance

Majestic Mushrooms Pty Ltd is a member of the Australian Mushroom Growers Association (AMGA). By being members of AMGA, we are up to date with the latest developments in the mushroom industry.

Majestic Mushrooms Pty Ltd is also Freshcare certified. The Freshcare Code of Practice describes the practices required on farm to provide an assurance that fresh produce is safe to eat, has been prepared to customer specifications and legislative requirements; and has been grown with care for the environment. Being Freshcare certified also means that our farm is independently audited and our product is tested.

Therefore, maintaining the farm hygiene at the highest level is our key priority and you can be assured that you're buying the best!

Spent Mushroom Compost

For those with a green thumb, Majestic Mushrooms is also your local supplier of spent mushroom compost. Mushroom compost is a great source of nutrients for the gardens, has excellent water retention, balances soil pH levels and can help promote seedling growth.
