The family has been growing vegetables commercially for the past 12 years and specialise in Asian and Salad Greens.
On top of the year round production of Greens, Gleann na Meala is also a great producer of Organic Potatoes, some of the varieties they grow include: Kipfler, Pink Fir Apple, Tilboug, Mieke, Dutch Cream and King Edward. Should you have any questions about best uses for these potato varieties Dave from Gleann na Meala has a great knowledge of the individual qualities of all the varieties he grows.
Other vegetables available most of the year are brocolli, brocollini, cauliflower, kale, spinach, cellery and leeks.
During the summer months Gleann na Meala grow:garlic tomatoes, eggplant, cucumber, capsicum beans, peas and a variety of chillies.
Gleann na Meala Also grow true Japanese Pumpkin, this is not "Jap Pumpkin" like you get in the shops. Dave has heard "Jap" stands for "Just another Pumpkin". The varieties grown at GnM are sourced from Japan and offer unique flavours. These pumpkins will be available in late Autumn and Winter.
