About A & J Dorrough (Seasonal)

We grow all of our produce at Honeysuckle in the Myrtle Creek valley on far south coast of NSW. We are approximately 5km from the village of Wyndham and 25km inland from Pambula and Merimbula.

All of our produce is grown without the use of chemicals. Crop rotations, green manures, composts, lime and dolomite and kelp and fish foliar sprays are used to improve and maintain plant and soil health. Weed control relies on mulching and hand weeding.

Garlic is hand planted in March and harvest begins in late October and continues through to mid- December for the late varieties. French, red and golden shallots are hand planted in winter and harvested fresh in late November with the main harvest in late December and early January.

We attend the market on a seasonal basis only. Early varieties of garlic and fresh shallots are available at the market in late November and December. Late varieties of garlic, including Giant Russian garlic, and mature french and golden shallots are available in late January and February.

We also aim to bring one or two special gourmet vegetables to each market eg. fresh salad onions, baby beets, spring green garlic.

We will do special orders such as bulk orders (>1kg) of garlic bulbs or separated cloves (>500g) - please contact us to find out when we will next be at the market.
