What is a Truffle?
A truffle is a fungal fruiting body that develops underground. The most common highly valued truffle is the French Black or Tuber melanosporum which is now widely grown in Australia. They are cultivated on host trees, mostly oaks and hazelnuts, whose roots have been infected with the truffle spore. Brillat-Savarin called these truffles "the diamond of the kitchen". They are a glutamate and therefore a flavour enhancer suitable for use with any food.
LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON SATURDAY.
